Welcome to
the Protective Hose Company web site. The Protective Hose
Company is one of the four company's that is a part of the
Lancaster Village Fire Department. On this web site you will
find a lot of information about our company. Our fire truck,
Engine 1, is located to the right.
The Protective Hose Company was organized
on October 29, 1896. The first meeting that
we had was held at the home of Claude Nixon
on Lombardy Street. This meeting followed
the granting of a petition filed with the
Lancaster Village Board on October 26, 1896
for permission to organize a hose company
and to use the hose cart formerly used by
the Alert Hose Company which had disbanded
on July 22, 1896.
